  1. Yeah, I read about the Christy thing. Nothing quite like suggesting that civil rights should be voted on, or that the majority gets to choose who gets the benefits of constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Lets all vote on which Church is going to be the Federally supported denomination. I mean, who cares about the Constitution when we can just vote on it. That sounds like a good idea.

    Blah.

  2. Something seems suspect about Arkh. The project seems legit, but this quote from their FAQ basing their funding aims on “what some guy at Zynga told them” makes me think otherwise.

  3. I don’t want to be a spoilsport, but it may actually be the case that Arkh’s requests are illegal. My understanding is that sufficiently small organizations and/or non-profits tend to be exempt from many anti-discrimination statutes, but I don’t understand all the nuances (or applicable state laws), and I also know that discrimination in advertising is sometimes regulated differently than direct discrimination (e.g. you can legally refuse to have a black roommate if you’re renting out a room in your own house, but it’s not so clear that you can put an ad in the paper for the room that says “Blacks need not apply”).
