AI: Triage
I’m pretty sure we all – sometimes if not extremely regularly – end up in situations where we can do one thing to take care of ourselves or we can do another that we need to do for external reasons, and skipping the first will negatively impact the second, but so will doing the first, thanks to time constraints. The most common of these is probably the tradeoff between sleeping and working. For me, sleeping and playing is also a pretty huge one. The tradeoff, especially for work, usually falls on the side of “I might be able to deal with this without sleep, but I definitely won’t get it done if I do sleep,” but there are times when it doesn’t, and there are times when the choice is not at all obvious.
What are your most common priority conflicts, whether regarding personal care versus goals, or anything else? How are the sides weighted, and how do you decide? How well (or poorly) does the choice usually go?

For me, it’s sleeping vs. working out. I know getting up to work out will help me sleep better the following night and more easily get up to exercise the next morning, but I’m likely to be very tired through the day and would rather wait until I feel well-rested to get up. It’s a tough cycle to break.
