  • Hateful Cardinal Demoted Again – Cardinal Raymond Burke, who stridently opposes abortion rights and LGBT acceptance, was demoted first from being archbishop of St. Louis, and now from the Congregation for Bishops, to the largely ceremonial post of Patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come under Pope Francis’s administration.

  • Kansas Court Boots Wingnuts from Same Sex Marriage Case – “A federal court has denied Westboro Baptist’s request to intervene in the Kansas marriage equality case. 1. I don’t do facebook, I tried to sign up a couple times when it was still restricted, and then it was too creepy. Now I’m sort of nervous of signing up because of a million things.

The Unruhs are nuts. “Can a word exist without a definition? […] Can the rule of law survive the dismantling of key words like marriage?” “The extension of marriage to same sex relationships inflicts profound harm on the Unruhs.”

As for the Catholic Church: I have no hope for them yet. Someone has said that this is how things work:
    1) Release a positive sounding statement/question/whatever
    2) Enjoy positive press
    3) Wait 2 days
    4) Quietly release something saying what you had said before didn’t mean anything, and you still hate gays just as much
    5) Laugh as the second statement doesn’t condemnation near the level of the approbation received by the first statement
    6) Repeat ad nauseam until people forget how fucking hateful your entire organization is

  2. Yeah, I get not wanting to put a lot of personal info on the internet. I used a fake name when I first signed up for FB, and I don’t put a lot of identifiable pics up.

The Pope/Church are being consistent with the Bible – making a statement and then contradicting said statement elsewhere. /Snark

Yea for SC! And SCOTUS denied KS’s request for a stay, so couples can started marrying there now.
